Getting Healthy Was Too Much Work

Many years ago, there was an infomercial on about juicing. It made it seem like this would be a great thing to do. I mean, I generally eat healthy, I’m not picky, and I do love juice. I am in shape and didn’t need to necessarily go on any special diet, but what can I say – I was sold. So, I bought the juicer.

I was meticulous about reading over the recipe book and went to the store to buy all sorts of fruits and vegetables. Many of the recipes were extremely delicious! But, there were some that weren’t. ( Note: Don’t ever believe that recipes with potatoes or onions taste good.) I also learned that some of the fruit pulp was equally delicious. It was great to spread on crackers and such. There were many recipes that I probably would have never heard of or tried – like the ones that included spinach and/or other vegetables combined with fruit. The fruit usually overpowered the taste of the vegetables but it was great to get those nutrients.

I assume it also decreased the amount of sugar I was taking in. The first time I had to take the juicer apart to clean it, I realized how many pieces and crevices there were. I soon realized, I hated cleaning the thing! Since the “strainer” piece had such fine holes, it seemed impossible to get out all of the pulp! After doing this a few times, I started using my new toy less and less, and even though I LOVED the actual juice itself, I eventually gave the appliance to my father. I do kind of miss the juicer, and sometimes think I should research it and find another model, maybe this one by Omega, that is easier to clean because store bought juice doesn’t compare to the price and diversity I was able to make myself.

We started by outlining what we were going to do in each room. We decided to focus on five rooms in the house. These rooms were the dining room, the kitchen, the living room, the bedroom and the upstairs ba...
